Posttraumatic stress disorder symptoms and suicidal ideation/behavior: The moderating effects of positive mental health and social support among Iranian and German students

Abstract Suicidal ideation and behavior are common in those suffering from Posttraumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD). The present study investigated factors buffering the association between PTSD symptoms suicidal ideation/behavior. A total of 571 Iranian students 421 German took part investigation. Social support positive mental health (PMH) were considered as resilience moderating suicide ideation/behavior within both samples. PMH moderated impact on students. only. Positive perceived social seem to confer should be taken into account, when assessing individuals for risk.
